Saint Andrew Chapter

Caring for Friends is a non-profit organization in Philadelphia that provides food and friendship to homebound seniors and people who are disabled, as well as to the homeless and to families of children in need.

1 in 5 Philadelphians are unable to access nutritious or sufficient food, many of them seniors.

Saint Andrew Church has partnered with CFF (formerly Aid fo Friends) since 1990.

Caring for Friends

Parishioners cook, package, and/or deliver meals to individuals in Bucks County who are unable to care for themselves.

Group cooking takes place on the third Wednesday of each month @ 7:00pm, in the Parish Meeting Room.

Kevin O'Shea and Jack Kelly are taking over for Maria Henkensiefken, who coordinated our Caring for Friends' activities for many years.

 

Under Maria's leadership, our Parish was the recipient of the Rita Ungaro-Schiavone Award. This award is presented to outstanding persons or groups who have supported this mission over the years.

  • The Saint Andrew Chapter of Caring for Friends has been a ministry since 1990.

  • Our chapter routinely prepares and donates over 8,000 meals per year.

  • We were honored with the Rita Ungaro-Schiavone Award in 2012. The award's namesake is the founder of Aid for Friends in 1974.

  • This ministry meets on the third Wednesday of each month, at 7:00pm, in the Parish Meeting Room.
